Our Journey Begins

Established in 2008 as a subsidiary of the Minister of Finance (Incorporated) (MOF Inc.) Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd is entrusted with the vital mandate to design, build, operate and maintain the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge (JSAHMS) the second longest expressway bridge in Southeast Asia. Born from a bold vision and driven by a purpose to connect the nation’s future JKSB continues to uphold this responsibility with dedication and excellence.

Spanning over six years of technical brilliance from 2008 to its completion in 2014, the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge (JSAHMS) was constructed using cutting-edge marine engineering and equipped with seismic safeguards capable of detecting and withstanding seismic activity up to 7.5 on the Richter scale. A Nation United

Named in honour of His Majesty Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, this iconic 24-kilometre bridge now connects millions between Penang Island and the mainland each day, forging ties, creating opportunities, and shaping shared futures for generations. Officially launched on 3 March 2014 by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the bridge stands as a proud symbol of national unity, visionary leadership, and Malaysia’s engineering excellence.

The Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge proudly holds more than 10 Malaysia Book of Records titles, including the Most Advanced AI Technology in Malaysia and the First Total Solution Advanced AI Technology implemented on a Malaysian expressway bridge. Its real-time incident detection system protects every journey through smart surveillance and intelligent response. It is also the longest bridge installed with High Damping Natural Rubber Bearing (HDNRB), providing effective seismic isolation to withstand earthquakes up to 7.5 on the Richter scale.
